Country side of Ramechhap (Nepal)

The Layers of hills
It's a place in Nepal, where you will get to see lots of small houses on ranges of hills, green forest, deep blue running water, and mostly the lovely people.
One can drive to this place from Kathmandu within few hours whether by local bus or bike. The cool breeze blowing on your face will give you the sensation of pleasure.
One can see the ranges of mountains, as well as the hills besides hills...

"Travel is the discovery of truth; an affirmation of the promise that human kind is far more beautiful than it is flawed. With each trip comes a new optimism that where there is despair and hardship, there are ideas and people just waiting to be energized, to be empowered, to make a difference for good.”
- Dan Thompson, Following Whispers: Walking on the Rooftop of the World in Nepal's Himalayas

Villagers crossing river with DOKO
DOKO:
"Doko" is something I believe most people are aware of. It is still extensively used to physically transport  woods, water (obviously by keeping a vessel filled with water in the DOKO), kids to school and even patients in remote parts of Nepal where transport system is not readily available. It is made up of bamboo cut into long straps and joined together. It is also used in Kathmandu and other cities especially to carry materials for building house like sand, bricks etc. The above picture is the actual "Doko" and the rope like thing on the ground is the "Namlo" which is a head strap which goes around the head and helps people carry weight on their back. It is usually made up of rope. Since it is hard and rough on the forehead a soft cloth is used to decrease the pressure.

Beautiful morning

The risky road

The Sun-kosi River

The Sun-kosi has the great advantage of having a Put-in close to Kathmandu. You could expect the bus to take about three hours which is ideal to unpack, have lunch and depart at the start of the afternoon.

Animals have SOUL

Animals have soul. After going deep inside it's eye, I found it!!!

Giant ELEPHANT

The Giant and Innocent:

When I was passing through a park,  during our journey to Ooty (South India), we saw these giant elephants with their master. Really, these elephants look amazing while bathing

“Of all African animals, the elephant is the most difficult for man to live with, yet its passing - if this must come - seems the most tragic of all. I can watch elephants (and elephants alone) for hours at a time, for sooner or later the elephant will do something very strange such as mow grass with its toenails or draw the tusks from the rotted carcass of another elephant and carry them off into the bush. There is mystery behind that masked gray visage, and ancient life force, delicate and mighty, awesome and enchanted, commanding the silence ordinarily reserved for mountain peaks, great fires, and the sea.”
                                             - Peter Matthiessen, The Tree Where Man Was Born

“Elephants love reunions. They recognize one another after years and years of separation and greet each other with wild, boisterous joy. There's bellowing and trumpeting, ear flapping and rubbing. Trunks entwine.”
                                                                              - Jennifer Richard Jacobson, Small as an Elephant

It's Millipedes!

Millipedes are herbivores. It does not really have 1,000 legs! In fact millipedes can only have up to 710 legs. The centipede only has one pair of legs per body segment.
